Engine firm Deutz says it is ready for Stage V emissions

Engine manufacturer Deutz says that all of its Stage IV engines are ready for the proposed Stage V emissions legislation that will come into force in 2019/2020. Using Deutz Variable Emissions Technology (DVERT), the company says that it can combine or make dedicated emissions solutions for every market in which its engines are sold.

A Dutch maker of valves, couplings and flow regulators claims it has developed what it calls a “sustainable 700-bar filling technique” for hydrogen cars. The company, Teesing, says its PusH project successfully filled cylinders fast and efficiently with hydrogen at 700 bar. The system runs at 700 bar because hydrogen has a lower energy content than natural gas, which means that the same volume contains three times less energy. The Marangoni Group has announced it will invest €8 million to modernise its plant in the northern Italian city of Rovereto, near Trentino. Overloading of vehicles in the United Kingdom continues to be a serious issue, according to data from the government’s Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) and Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA). Both Atlas Copco and Hitachi have selected new low emission engines for some of their latest machines being made available in Europe and North America.
