Vögele has unveiled two Dash 3 generation asphalt pavers at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show – the Super 1700-3i and the Super 2000-3i. Both of these tracked machines can also be specified as wheeled pavers, the Super 1703-3i and the Super 2003-3i respectively.

Haulotte introduced two new ranges of articulating booms at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. The HT85 range has a number of potential applications, such as construction, finishing, maintenance, inspection, shipyard construction and tree surgery. With a maximum outreach of nearly 78ft 2in, the telescopic boom quickly extends to full height for working efficiency. Due to machine weight limits, users cannot always load all their equipment at once.

The Carmix 3500 TC has added new technology to its mobile batching plant capabilities. “There is a probe in the drum that monitors progress, temperature and other parts of the mixing process,” said Manuela Galante, marketing director at Carmix. “The changes in the 3500 TC are mostly based on technology.”

Brokk used brains to provide more brawn for its new demolition robot, the Brokk 500, the company said at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. The power increase is substantial, with the Brokk 500 providing a boost of 40% over its predecessor. The power was added through the company’s SmartPower electrical system.

Italian attachment manufacturer Indeco is poised to meet a significant rise in demand in the US market. “There is definitely room for growth here,” said Indeco marketing and commercial director Michele Vitulano. “Look at the grab: it’s just starting to be used in the US.”

EquipmentShare’s new Sentry Keypad offers improved machinery protection from unauthorised use, the company said at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. “Each user has a unique identification number to access equipment,” said William Schlacks, president of Equipment Share. “If he doesn’t have the right certification, the machine won’t start.”

John Deere has previewed a 35-40 tonne class reduced swing tracked excavator at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show in Las Vegas, that will be launched later in the year. The 345G is aimed at road building, infrastructure and site development contractors looking for a compact footprint with more lifting and digging capacity than Deere’s existing 245G.

Italian attachment specialist Simex has developed a three-in-one attachment for the North American market which is on display at CONEXPO/CON-AGG: the RS 16 planer. The primary function of the attachment is to grind rumble strips, installed at the edge of roads to alert dozing motorists, but it can also be converted within hours to a standard planer or a planer for fine milling.

The Fayat Group is steadily developing its operations and its presence in the North America market. President Jean-Claude Fayat explained the firm’s position at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. The high value of the US$ against the euro has been of benefit to the group, he said: “For sure it’s helping to improve our margins.”

Leica Geosystems has released the new Leica ConX at CONEXPO-CONN/AGG. ConX is a cloud solution and web interface to seamlessly integrate, manage and analyse surveying and machine control workflows for heavy construction projects.

Terex Trucks has launched the Generation 10 range of articulated dump trucks (ADT) in the North American market at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG show in Las Vegas. The trucks feature an upgraded cab environment, new engine canopy, efficient Tier 4 engines and smoother transmissions, all aimed at improving productivity and performance for the customer.

Ben Brock, CEO of Astec Industries, painted a picture of strong financial performance for the firm at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017. He said that 2016 was a good year for the group due to the most recent highway bill and commented: “It gave our customers the confidence to place orders.”
