Perkins extends Syncro engine range

Perkins extended its compact engine platform, the Syncro range, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Its arrival means the range is bolstered by a 1.7litre version, which sits beneath the 2.8 and 3.6litre capacities introduced last year.
Kubota engines deliver higher power ratings

Kubota’s latest 09-series diesel engines move the Japanese maker further up the power band. Badged V5009, the five-litre, four-cylinder engine format boasts a peak output of 157.3kW from its compact dimensions, and uses a combination of DPF and SCR after-treatment packages to meet emissions regulations.

Volvo unveils redesigned L350H wheel loader

Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) literally took the wraps off its redesigned L350H wheel loader at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. With Volvo president and CEO Martin Lundstedt and Volvo CE president Martin Weissberg in attendance - and in front of a large crowd of visitors at its stand - the company pulled the curtains away from the upgraded machine.

Manitowoc unveiled a new truck crane product at CONEXPO-CON/AGG as proof that ‘The Manitowoc Way’, the company’s renewed commitment to customers, has arrived. Barry Pennypacker, president and CEO of Manitowoc, announced a stronger-than-ever commitment to delivering products of value to customers. He then unveiled the Grove TMS9000-2 – a product that took only six months to develop.
Chicago Pneumatic adds new CPPG inverters for AC power below 3kW

Chicago Pneumatic has added four CPPG inverter models for contractors needing a clean and reliable source of AC power below 3kW. The models – on show at CONEXPO-CON/AGG - have a recoil starter for fast powering up and, thanks to noise dampening canopies, are near-silent, according to the company. Operating noise levels are as low as 65dB or 63dB.
CDE unveils single chassis M5500 sand wash plant

CDE’s new North America market-orientated M5500 sand washing plant is able to produce up to an impressive 550tonnes/hour of washed materials on a single chassis. The M5500 model on show at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 was sold to a major US frac sand supplier only last week.

Soilmec’s SR-30 EVO gets more power and faster operation

Soilmec has updated its popular SR-30 piling rig with the unveiling at this year’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG of the SR-30 EVO. Capable of being transported complete with Kelly bar, the rig is lighter and more powerful than previous models. Power comes from a 168kW (225hp) Cummins QSB6.7 diesel engine, available in Tier 3 and Tier 4 Final versions to suit various markets.
Cummins Guidanz app provides real-time support

As part of its connectivity focus, Cummins revealed a user-friendly, engine data analytic app at CONEXPO-CON/AGG for its off-highway customers. It becomes commercially available next month. Called Cummins Guidanz, the app enables remote monitoring of any Cummins engine that meets Tier 3 or later emissions standards, to provide instant recognition and reading of fault codes.
Liebherr launches rough terrain cranes LRT 1090-2.1 and 1100-2.1

Liebherr announced at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG exhibition in Las Vegas that the company is back in the rough terrain crane market after a 30-year absence. The Swiss-based company is focusing on the North American market with the launch of two mobile crane models, said Daniel Pitzer, head of Liebherr USA.
