Hamm launches H10i soil compactor

Compaction specialist Hamm has launched a 10 tonne H series soil compactor and updated its 12 and 14 tonne models with new engines and operating systems. The H10i compactor is powered by an 85kW diesel engine and can be specified with smooth or padfoot drums. All H series machines come with three-point pivot articulation, to maximise drive on rough ground and feature the company’s Easy Drive operating concept, with ergonomic work stations and improved visibility.
BASF microfibre gives good finish

BASF introduced its new MasterFiber MAC 360 FF microfibre for strengthening concrete while offering an aesthetic finish at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. The fibre aims to strengthen plastic concrete to minimise shrinkage and settlement cracking, while effectively enhancing the post-crack toughness of hardened concrete.

Grove unveils GRT655 rough-terrain crane

The new Grove GRT655 rough-terrain crane includes features most commonly associated with much larger cranes. The crane was unveiled at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017 on Tuesday. “We have loaded the GRT655 with features that companies usually see on cranes in larger capacity classes,” said Paul Cutchall, product manager for rough-terrain cranes at Manitowoc, which operates Grove.

The election of president Donald Trump had an immediate and positive effect on business, according to McLanahan’s CEO Sean McLanahan, speaking at a press conference at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. “The day after the election our phones started ringing,” said McLanahan. “Projects that had been mothballed are being put back online...our sales are up significantly since that time.” Sentiment from visitors at the show so far has been equally upbeat, added the CEO.
