McLanahan launches new equipment as US election boosts sales

The election of president Donald Trump had an immediate and positive effect on business, according to 7597 McLanahan’s CEO Sean McLanahan, speaking at a press conference at CONEXPO-CON/AGG.

“The day after the election our phones started ringing,” said McLanahan. “Projects that had been mothballed are being put back online...our sales are up significantly since that time.”

Sentiment from visitors at the show so far has been equally upbeat, added the CEO.

As well as revealing new products, the 182-year-old manufacturer announced the launch of McLanahan Capital, a new financing arm of the company, offering buying and leasing options. “People are looking at how they can stretch their capital and do more for less, make things a little less risky,” said Mark Krause, managing director, North America at McLanahan.

New equipment on display at McLanahan’s stand includes one of the MAX Series Vibrating Screen for separating coarse feed materials from finer materials. Available in a range of sizes from 6’x16’ to 8’x24’, the screens have been designed for longevity and ease of maintenance, says MacLanahan.

“They are different from a maintenance standpoint to make it easier to work on - for example, there’s more space between the decks,” said Krause.

Also on the stand is one of the latest generation of McLanahan Modular Sand Plants which come in standardized sections for quick assembly. The plants can handle up to 5,000 gpm and up to 400 tph of sand product.

The plants are totally customizable, says the manufacturer, and can be either screen- or sump-fed to provide maximum flexibility for a wide variety of feed slurries. The possibility of using either a Separator or Cyclone provides additional flexibility for processing requirements.

The third new product is the MMS Track Trommel, for processing aggregates, waste fines, construction and demolition material, compost, topsoil, ash, and wood waste. The mobile trommel, which can handle up to 165 tons of material an hour, can be containerized when almost fully assembled, and can be set up and running in just 15 minutes, says McLanahan.

Though McLanahan used the show to launch a website devoted to information about its mobile crushing, screening, recycling and material handling equipment, www.mclanahanmobilesolutions, Krause emphasised the importance of support and communication to their customers: “People want to see people. They want local and they want to know that people have got their back.”
