Perkins extends Syncro engine range

Perkins extended its compact engine platform, the Syncro range, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG. Its arrival means the range is bolstered by a 1.7litre version, which sits beneath the 2.8 and 3.6litre capacities introduced last year.
UK machine parts exports and imports

The Construction Equipment Association (CEA) reports improvements in UK exports and imports of components and parts for construction and earthmoving machines. According to the CEA report, exports of components and parts showed modest improvements in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared with the third quarter,. This shows a 1.5% increase in weight (tonnes) terms, and an 11.3% increase in value terms.

Engines and drivetrain components push JCB’s OEM business

JCB Power Systems, the engine business of the British equipment manufacturer, is experiencing growing demand for its products, thanks to its ability to meet Stage IV emissions regulations without a costly DPF. “We’ve struck some major deals with manufacturers,” said JCB Power Systems’ OEM engine sales and development manager Robert Payne. “Our OEM business is five times the size it was in 2009 and we saw 63% growth in OEM sales volumes from 2013 to 2014.”
FPT Industrial ready for Stage V standard

With the introduction of Stage V/Tier 5 emissions regulations set for 2019-2020, depending on engine power output, FPT Industrial says that it will build upon its SCR-only strategy, remaining one of the few manufacturers not adopting Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) to meet the standard. The Italian firm’s Hi-eSCR after-treatment system, already in use on Stage IV/Tier 4 Final engines, maximises in-engine combustion technology without using EGR. Engine firm Deutz says it is ready for Stage V emissions

Engine manufacturer Deutz says that all of its Stage IV engines are ready for the proposed Stage V emissions legislation that will come into force in 2019/2020. Using Deutz Variable Emissions Technology (DVERT), the company says that it can combine or make dedicated emissions solutions for every market in which its engines are sold.
Perkins launch compact but powerful engine

Perkins launched a new Tier 4/Stage IIIB engine at bauma 2014 held in Shanghai, China. The 404F-E22TA is a turbocharged aftercooled 2.2litre unit. With a power output of 50kW it delivers the power that previously an engine of up to 2.9litres would have been required to provide.
