The 12th Beijing International Construction Machinery Exhibition & Seminar (BICES 2013) is set to have a record 1,500 exhibitors covering an area of 230,000m2. Numbers of both domestic and international visitors are also expected to grow. Overall, BICES 2013 expects to attract more than 130,000 visitors. HammerHead Trenchless Equipment unveiled the world’s largest pneumatic pipe ramming hammer at bauma. The 865mm hammer can install casings 1.22m to 4.57m in diameter in drainage culvert and wash-over applications and can be used for pipe assist or pipe extraction, guided pilot bore ramming, and horizontal directional drilling assist. Bonfiglioli has developed an electric drum drive for the new hybrid truck mixer from CIFA, the concrete equipment specialist owned by Chinese manufacturer Zoomlion. The 500 series drum drive with electric motor offers drum rotation speeds from 15-22rpm and is suited to mixer capacities from 6-14m3. The drivetrain relies on an AC induction motor to turn the drum, which gets its power from an on-board battery pack. The new venue for the bC India show is the India Expo Centre in Greater Noida, near Delhi. A total of 170,000m² of exhibition space is available for the bauma/ConExpo event taking place from 15-18 December, 2014. The move to Great Noida follows two successful events held in Mumbai.
