ZF used bauma 2013 to show the next stage of development for its cPower continuously variable transmission (CVT). By combining the transmission with a hybrid module, ZF said greater operating efficiencies were available from the integration of start/stop technology and energy recovery from regenerative braking. Potentially, the hybrid drive system has the ability to boost fuel efficiency by up to 25% in addition to the 20% higher operating efficiency already offered by the cPower transmission, said ZF.

Mantovanibenne has increased the cylinder size on its latest Eagle II range of shears and redesigned the tip with a replaceable blade that pierces the material before searing back towards the throat while the one jaw is scalloped to release cut material. Wacker Neuson has added two compact telescopic handlers to its range – the TH412 and the TH625. The machines offer maximum heights of 4.31m and 5.73m respectively, with lift capacities of 1.2tonnes and 2.5tonnes. PERI says that with new VARIOKIT system components it is now possible to create a heavy-duty truss girder for bridge construction. A supplement to the VARIOKIT heavy-duty shoring tower launched at bauma 2010, PERI said that during the new truss girder solution’s development it took into account load-bearing capacity of the tower and the challenging requirements of daily construction work. Globally renowned Austrian formwork company Doka has almost tripled its sales revenue in the last 12 years and is aiming for greater success in 2013, according to Group chairman Josef Kurzmann. Kurzmann said the firm recorded sales revenue of €853million in 2012, compared to €326million in 2000. Additionally, the percentage of non-European sales revenue accrued by Doka had increased from 6% in 2000 to 42% in 2012.
