STRABAG building two more Polish routes

Contractor STRABAG has won deals to construct two more sections of the S7 route in Poland for some €198 million. The firm will build a total of 36km of the S7 route to the north of capital Warsaw. The construction work for the four lane route is expected to take 34 months to complete. Louis Berger wins key India bridge deal

Louis Berger has been awarded the management contract for the Versova-Bandra Sea Link project in India. The US$17 million project management services deal was awarded to the firm by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). Morocco key bypass section complete

Work on the first stretch of the US$55.6 million bypass around Rabat is now complete. The 6km stretch of the N°2 Rabat-Salé route forms part of a wider plan to develop Rabat. The final stretch linking El Oulja with the N°6 national road should be complete in the next few months. Argentina bridge project attracting interest

Plans are being drawn up in Argentina for a new bridge that will connect Parana and Santa Fe. The project will be handled under the PPP model and involves the construction of a bridge and highway connection that is expected to cost US$650 million. The work will be carried out in three phases. New Laos highway connecting key cities

A new highway is being built in Laos, which will link the capital Vientiane with the city of Vangvieng. The route will stretch 113.5km and will form part of the Laos-China Highway Project. Challenging Chinese highway under construction

Work is now underway on a 136km highway that will present many challenges to its builders. The highway is being constructed in Guangxi Province and will connect Guangyang with Pingle, with the project forming part of the Guangxi 13th Five-Year Plan. The Tanzania National Road Agency (Tanroads) is managing four major highway projects that have been awarded to four Chinese contractors. Polish projects planned to expand network

The authorities in Poland plan to expand the country’s road network by a total of 3,268km by 2025. The Polish national road authority GDDKiA says that this plan is likely to cost some €31.61 billion. The road development plan will run until 2025 as part of Poland’s National Road Construction Programme. Financing is being sought in Indonesia for a series of major infrastructure projects. In all the work is expected to require US$9.59 billion and is for six highway projects, with one in Kalimantan and five in Java. The project in Kalimantan is for the Bontang-Samarinda Highway. In Java the highway projects are for links from Cileunyi-Tasikmalaya-Cilacap stretching 183km, Bawen-Yogyakarta, Kamal-Balaraja-Teluknaga stretching 48.3km, Semanan-Balaraja stretching 31.7km and Semarang-Demak.
