E-Deutz is currently available with a 110kW output, which combines 55kW from a 2.9 litre TCD2.9 stage V-compliant diesel engine with a 55kW electric motor with
Benninghoven unveils an alternating chute for Eco asphalt plant
April 23, 2018
Benninghoven has launched a cost-efficient alternating chute unit on its ECO asphalt mixing plant. The type ECO asphalt mixing plant range offers outputs from 100tonnes/hour to 320tonnes/hour to ensure maximum mobility and flexibility. The machines can be operated as stationary plant but the can also handle fast location changes without problems, according to Benninghoven. Benninghoven has always relied on loading skip technology as the link between mixer and loading silo. When working like this, the
Goodyear’s solution saves big euros on off-highway tyre costs
April 23, 2018
Goodyear has staged the European launch of its new data-based solution which enables precise, real-time monitoring of tyres. TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) Heavy Duty will, in combination with Goodyear premium tyres and services, help OTR fleets optimise tyre performance, reduce downtime and improve total cost of ownership. The prevention of tyre-related incidents through the use of TPMS Heavy Duty reduces breakdown costs and is said by Goodyear to increase dump truck, wheeled loader and mobile cr
Yanmar’s new diesels offer high power density and low fuel consumption
April 23, 2018
Yanmar’s two latest diesels, the 4TN101 and 4TN107, are said to combine high power density with low fuel consumption. According to Carlo Guidici, sales director for Yanmar Europe: “The engines have 10% lower fuel consumption than the average for the competition.” With power outputs ranging from 90-155kW, the 4.6litre 4TN107 can provide a power density of 33.7kW/litre, which the firm claims is the highest in its class, while it delivers 805Nm of torque. The issue of power density is important and Guidici
Manitou previews MC 25 and MC30 forklifts at Intermat
April 23, 2018
Manitou previewed the MC 25 and MC 30 rough terrain forklifts on the 60th anniversary of launching its first forklift. The MC 25 and MC30 have loading capacities of 2.5 tonnes and 3 tonnes respectively, and are 1.45m wide with ground clearances of 30cm for easy manoeuvrability around works sites. The forklifts have maximum speeds of 25 km/h and have been certified as roadworthy, so they can be used over long distances. Users do not have to raise the whole cabin to get at the engine but can access compon
Roadtec’s improved Shuttle Buggy offers increased uptime
April 23, 2018
A key development for the latest version of Roadtec’s Shuttle Buggy material transfer vehicle is its improved uptime. As Roadtec continues to develop this machine, it is improving performance and capabilities, boosting output while lowering running costs. The firm first introduced its Guardian telematics system on the Shuttle Buggy some years ago, but has continued to develop the capabilities of this package. The addition of more sensors within the Shuttle Buggy at key points allows performance and wear to
BKT & Kultevat to explore use of TKS dandelion in tyre making
April 23, 2018
Off-highway tyre manufacturer BKT has entered into a joint research agreement with Kultevat, a leading US bio-tech company specialising in the cultivation and processing of TKS dandelion as a renewable and sustainable alternative to natural rubber. The agreement will explore the wider use of TKS dandelion, a species of dandelion native to Kazakhstan. The plant has the potential to be used in the production of high quality rubbers used in the tyre manufacturing process. All studies, analyses, experimentation
Dana HVT ready for Stage V engines
April 23, 2018
Dana Rexroth transmission systems says it is working with engine manufacturers in the off-highway industry to support European stage V engine emissions regulations. Its hydromechanical variable transmission (HVT) platform is already prepared for stage V emissions standards, and the firm is collaborating with leading engine manufacturers to develop transmission control software that will allow it to deliver a fully compliant solution.
Digger DTR unveils the remote control augmented reality Scrapper system
April 23, 2018
Digger DTR’s new Scrapper technology allows construction machines to be operated at distances of up to 500 metres using a remote-control system and augmented reality goggles. Scrapper allows operators to work at a safe distance in dangerous situations such as landslides or areas contaminated by chemicals or radioactive substances. The system also works well in areas where there is a high risk of an explosion. The operator can see what’s happening through a stereo camera installed in the machine’s passenger
Hybrid technology for Hamm’s HD+ 90i PH tandem roller goes on show
April 23, 2018
Hamm is claiming a first with its hybrid 9 tonne HD+ 90i PH tandem roller. The German manufacturer believes that it is the first roller manufacturer to develop a production-ready machine. Most hybrid solutions, as in the case of cars, combine an internal combustion engine with an electric motor. Hamm has instead combined an internal combustion engine with a hydraulic system for the tandem roller. Although the maximum load is used regularly for compacting, it is always just for a few seconds at a time.
Dana showcases Brevini electrification and motion control
April 23, 2018
Dana’s acquisition of Italian component maker Brevini has extended the company’s knowledge base with access to a diverse range of motion control and vehicle electrification components. As a result, the firm showcased an aerial work platform at Intermat Paris 2018 that had been stripped of its original components. Kitted out with a combination of Dana, Spicer and Brevini motion control systems, it is designed to support the power distribution needs of hybrid and electric off-highway vehicles.
