Making its Intermat debut, Scotland-based Tata Steel last year invested €9.56million (£8million) in its specialist steels Clydebridge plant in Glasgow. The move increased the plant’s capacity for producing premium quality high-strength steel plate, essential for lifting and excavating industries, by up to 50%. Tata Steel is more than the just a steel producer according to Carlo Di Terlizzi, brand and marcoms manager for lifting and excavating.

Latest Volvo wheeled loaders to get the G-series revisions include the middle-weight 11-17 tonne L60, L70 and L90 versions. The stylish overhaul brings an electrically operated sloping bonnet, improving rearward visibility. All benefit from a revised cab layout, cleaner engines and improved hydraulic systems to deliver more productivity and greater efficiency. Power ratings are from 121-130kW, with all three sharing a stage IIIB six-cylinder Volvo D6H motor that gets cooled EGR and DPF emissions equipment.

Atlas Copco used INTERMAT to launch the Edge Drill Monitor – an innovative system of measuring shock waves from down-the-hole drilling. Information about the hammer and the bit is displayed graphically in real time, allowing the operator to extract maximum performance and efficiency as geology changes during the drilling process, to maintain the correct degree of flushing and avoid tool breakage.

Anaconda Equipment has launched the FTR 150 feeder conveyor, which is transported by container and transforms ready for use once it arrives on site. The FTR 150 has been designed for a wide range of applications including quarrying. It allows feeds to be controlled through use of a surge feeder. The driver can deposit loads of up to 9m3, which are then conveyed for crushing and screening. The system can also be fitted with a grid and a screen for use as a scalping/screening unit.

Liebherr’s new Mobilmix 2.5 is a container-mounted mixing plant system developed for large construction sites. This plant offers a capacity of 110m3/hour of compacted concrete and is designed for mobility. The plant’s components are housed in modular containers that can be easily transported and linked together on-site. Once erected, the container modules form a weather-proof structure that can be equipped with additional insulation for use in severe climatic conditions.

McCloskey International has added the option of a recirculating conveyor and screen box to its I44 impact bar mobile crusher, creating the I44R. After the material passes through the crusher, anything over a nominal 20mm is recirculated back into the crusher to be reduced further. This removes the need for a secondary crusher or screen, saving money for the operator and cutting the number of machines on site. The Warrior 2400 is the largest machine in Powerscreen’s Warrior range and is designed for large-scale operators in the quarrying and mining sectors. It is capable of handling larger feed sizes and has an output potential of up to 800tonnes per hour. It features a heavy-duty incline screen with a high amplitude triple shaft drive mechanism, lending it to screening, scalping, two or three-way splitting and stockpiling materials like aggregates, topsoil, coal, construction, demolition waste and iron ore.

Northern Ireland manufacturer Telestack is launching the newest design in the TC range of track mobile conveyors, the TC 421 Automatic Radial. According to Telestack, the TC421 increases safety of sites, facilitates less site traffic movements and improves efficiency of operations.
