Part of Wacker Neuson’s new DT series of crawler-mounted dumpers, the DT08 Proline is said by the firm’s product manager Steffen Wiesener to have a more efficient hydraulic system than the standard DT08 model, improved operating and control comfort and a wider range of attachments. The DT08 is available in diesel or petrol versions.

Komatsu used INTERMAT to take the wraps off two new Dash 7 wheeled loaders, badged WA380-7 and WA500-7. With engine emissions being the main driver, the smaller 18-tonne WA380-7 packs 142kW from its EU Stage IIIb engine to deliver improved efficiency and lower fuel consumption. The machine also gets torque converter lock-up with the function operating in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gears, and gives the loader a 40 km/h forward speed.

JCB has introduced two additional Stage IIIB-powered wheeled loaders, the 427 and the 437. Replacing the 426 and 436, the loaders use a Cummins QSB engine, which meets the requirements of Stage IIIB without the need for a diesel particulate filter or selective catalytic reduction (SCR). A variable geometry turbocharger improves response, while an optional five-speed powershift transmission with intelligent clutch cut-off system helps to reduce fuel consumption.

The latest addition to the Edge Design range of mobile handling equipment has been released at INTERMAT. The static (SL) / mobile (ML) / tracked (TL) vessel loader is capable of transferring up to 1,200tonnes per hour of material, and can accept it direct from large dumping trucks or tipping trailers. Rokster Recycler has developed its smallest mobile crusher to date, the R700S. Weighing in at 22tonnes when equipped with a screen box, or 19.3 tonnes without, the crusher can be transported as a single unit by truck. The machine is powered by a 129kW FPT engine, driving a 930mm rotor. Production capacity is 150 tonnes/hour.

While draglines are now a rarity, Sennebogen showed its 50tonne operating weight duty cycle crawler crane, the 650HD, with 2.33 dragline bucket. The machine is one of a 10-model range with operating weights from 20-180tonnes and engines between 119 and 708kW. It can be used in civil engineering, mining, demolition or material handling.

Italian crusher manufacturer REV has updated its Zeffiro GCV80 crusher, with a Stage IIIB Caterpillar engine, improved electrics and additional safety guards on the conveyors. Designed primarily for the demolition and recycling industry, the machine uses a 130kW version of the Cat C6.6 motor, driving through a variable displacement load sensing hydraulic system.

Atlas Copco, which is opening a new competence centre in Europe, is to move a divisional headquarters to China and has also hinted at further acquisitions. The new Atlas Copco Generator Competence Centre in Zaragoza, Spain, is scheduled to be in full operation by 2013, and is subject to final approval by local authorities. The decision to launch the centre for generators was announced by Atlas Copco’s portable energy division at INTERMAT.
