Highway project in Texas required demolition equipment

A contractor in Texas has used equipment from Brokk to help out with a tricky highway project. Upgrading work has been carried out on a 6.4km-long stretch of I-35 in San Antonio between Loop 410 NE and Loop 410 S. This stretch of the route was carrying around 185,000 vehicles/day and was suffering increasing levels of congestion at peak periods. New India highway project awarded

A US$452 million highway upgrade project will be carried out in India by the contractor, Ashoka Mallasandra Karadi Road. This firm is a subsidiary of Indian company Dilip Buildcon. The work involves upgrading a section of the existing NH206 route and widening it so that it features two lanes in either direction. The highway stretch being worked on is from Shivamogga to Tumkur. The contract was awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Myanmar road development project underway

A new road development project in Myanmar is now underway. The work will see and improved connection between Paletwa and Zorinpui. The project is being carried out by the Indian contractor C&C Construction. The work is costing US$245.3 million. The deal was awarded in mid-2017 but construction work has been delayed until all the necessary approvals have been given.

Hamburg road tunnel refurbishment commences

The delayed work to refurbish one of the tubes for the Elbe Tunnel in Hamburg has now commenced. Work to refurbish the other tube is set to commence shortly. This upgrade is required to improve the tunnel link, which carries a very heavy volume of traffic passing along the A1 Autobahn. This stretch of highway is amongst the busiest in Europe and carries a high percentage of truck traffic. The delay was due to construction activity being carried out on the A1 Hamburg Südost and the Süderelbbrücke bridge.
