Plans are being drawn up in Indonesia for a new road tunnel project, with construction planned to commence in 2021. The tunnel will feature parallel tubes and is expected to cost US$231 million to construct. It will measure 7km, making it one of the longest road tunnels in Indonesia. The tunnel will form part of the 96km Bengkulu-Lubuk Linggau tolled highway, which is being built in three main sections. A new 23km road project is planned for Russia’s Krasodar Region. Construction of the new road project is expected to commence in 2025. The new route will cost an estimated US$225.s million to build. Included in the construction of the new route will be new interchanges and multi-lane overpass stretches.

The Czech capital Prague has cancelled a contract worth almost US$90 million to demolish old the Liben Bridge and build a replacement. Instead, it will spend nearly $22 million to renovate and strengthen the existing bridge - Libensky Most . Media reported that the bridge will have its frame replaced and will be strengthened during the renovation, following recommendations from the Czech Technical University's Klokner Institute. A French contractor is to build 18 bridges and flyover stretches in Senegal. The deal is worth US$241.45 million.

A new relief road project is going ahead in Russia’s capital, Moscow. The four lane relief road for the Ostafievskoe Highway in Moscow is due for completion in 2020. The 3.75km link will feature crosswalks, traffic lights and intersections and a 200m bridge section. Noise barriers will be installed along 1.2km of the route.

Work will commence on Malaysia’s new elevated highway construction at the beginning of September 2019. The 5.7km highway stretch will feature two lanes in either direction and will be constructed in Malaysia’s Penang State. It will provide a link between the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway and Air Itam, with 70% of the route being elevated. The new link will feature three major interchanges and should take three years to construct.
