A series of key crane deals have been made across the Middle East. In Bahrain, Modern Mechanical, Electrical and Transporting (MMET) has placed an order for multiple Demag and Terex all-terrain cranes. MMET has an existing fleet of 15 Terex and Demag cranes. Doosan launches DX160LC-5 and DX180LC-5 high track excavators

Doosan Bobcat EMEA has launched the DX160LC-5 HT and DX180LC-5 HT Stage IV compliant high track crawler excavators. They complement the company’s standard configuration DX140LC-5 14tonne and DX180LC-5 18tonne mid-range excavators. Doosan says that the DX160LC-5 HT excavator combines the upper structure from the DX140LC-5 14tonne model with an 18tonne class high track undercarriage system, increasing the ground clearance from 410mm in the DX140LC-5 to 615 mm.
Atlas Copco’s new MB 1650 hydraulic breaker is lighter

Atlas Copco’s new MB 1650 hydraulic breaker is lighter and more compact than its predecessor, the MB 1700, yet it gives the same high performance. According to the manufacturer, the MB 1650 weighs in at 1,650k and is suitable for carriers in the weight class 19-32tonnes. A redesigned service window offers greater accessibility and thus makes the attachment more maintenance friendly. With no high-pressure accumulator, the MB 1650´s maintenance and repair costs are lower, said Atlas.
Hitachi Zaxis-6 machines for Société Lyonnaise de Travaux Publics

The Société Lyonnaise de Travaux Publics in France has completed the ongoing purchase of eight Hitachi medium excavators and one mini excavator. Machines bought by the Lyon-based demolition and earthmoving company are five ZX350LCN-6s, two ZX300LCN-6s, a ZX135US-6 and a ZX55U-5. The deal was done after testing several Zaxis-6 machines against other brands’ equivalent models.

Kapsch wins in Madrid for an intelligent mobility system

Madrid City Council has selected Kapsch to implement an intelligent mobility system. Kapsch said that its EcoTrafiX system will be used to obtain data on the real mobility status in the city using artificial vision cameras and so-called big data techniques. The project investment is €1.9 million. The goal is to capture comprehensive data to identify traffic situations, including all mobility modes - pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles and cars.
