A series of key crane deals have been made across the Middle East. In Bahrain, Modern Mechanical, Electrical and Transporting (MMET) has placed an order for multiple Demag and 1222 Terex all-terrain cranes

MMET has an existing fleet of 15 Terex and Demag cranes. With its recent order, the company will expand its service capabilities with the addition of one Demag AC 60-3, two Demag AC 100-4Ls, one Demag AC 160-5, one Demag AC 220-5 and one Terex AC 40/2L. A major selling point for MMET was the Demag models’ long boom reach combined with a compact chassis, which delivers greater manoeuvrability and flexibility on jobsites.

Meanwhile in Kuwait, Jassim Transport & Stevedoring (JTC) has placed an order for five new Demag cranes. The order includes four AC 100-4L and one AC 250-6 all-terrain cranes.

JTC is currently expanding its equipment fleet to keep up with the growing demand from its diverse customer base.

The four-axle Demag AC 100-4L all-terrain crane is said to feature a compact chassis and the AC 250-6 benefits from a long main boom length at 80m.

The five Demag all-terrain cranes will join JTC’s current fleet of Terex and Demag cranes that includes approximately 20 different models.

And Australian firm Bothar Boring & Tunneling is expanding its operations to the Middle East with the addition of three all-terrain cranes: a Demag AC 500-8, a Demag AC 100-4L and a Terex Explorer 5600. After evaluating multiple crane brands and models, Bothar Boring & Tunneling awarded its business to Terex Cranes because of the manufacturer’s record for providing the quality products that deliver the best return-on-investment and have a strong long-term residual value.

Bothar Boring & Tunneling has been operating in the Middle East since 2010 and has completed many projects in Kuwait and Abu Dhabi, and the United Arab Emirates. After recently being awarded major contracts in Qatar, the company determined it needed to add additional units to its current fleet of 15 cranes. In the company’s line of work, the compact size and asymmetric outrigger positioning, is vital for working in tight areas.
