Polish manufacturer Dressta, now owned by LiuGong, has updated the engine in its TD14R dozer to bring the machine into line with recent emissions regulations. The TD14R is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 engine delivering 119kW. The 18.7tonne dozer is available in standard, long and low ground pressure track models, with a three-point suspension system to maintain tractive effort on rough ground.

The new Atlas Copco rammers in the 50kg and 60kg weight class have been completely redesigned for easier handling, more uptime and longer service life. The LT5005 and LT6005 are powered by Honda engines and designed for compaction work in confined areas. One of the major changes is the slimmer design that facilitates handling close to walls, posts or in narrow trenches.

Atlas Copco launched five new products for underground construction and mining applications at bauma. The new series of Boomer E rigs features the COP 4038 and the new COP 1800+ series. Both product lines include a new rig control system as well as a new version of Atlas Copco´s Advanced Underground Manager system. Tesmec has developed new technology for its range of trenchers, which makes its machines ‘almost automatic’, according to business development director Paolo Celeri. ‘Trenchtronic’ allows the trenchers to self-adjust the engine load and travelling speed, depending on the soil type.

Terex aerial work platform business Genie has unveiled, what it claims, is the world’s biggest self-propelled boom, the SX-180. Intended primarily for oil and gas industries, construction and industrial maintenance, the boom has a 54.9m vertical working height and a 24.4m horizontal reach. Equipped with a 2.44m by 0.91m basket, and a 3.05m rotating jib, the machine has a working capacity of 340kg.

Caterpillar’s seventh generation 988 wheeled loader – the 988K – is powered by a Tier 4 Final/Stage IV Cat C18 ACERT diesel engine, featuring selective catalytic reduction and delivering 362kW. The engine is said to deliver a 20% fuel efficiency benefit compared to the 988H, thanks in part to an ECO mode with on-demand throttle, auto idle and engine idle kickdown/auto resume system. Rigid hauler manufacturer Perlini is setting up three new manufacturing businesses in China, Brazil and Russia, working with local partners to supply these growing markets.
