Hounslow Highways, working together with other Eurovia UK divisions including Surfacing, Contracting, Specialist Treatments and Euromark, has completed road reconstruction works on Stanwell Road West - one of the London Borough of Hounslow’s main link roads to Heathrow Airport. A large number of heavy goods vehicles and buses using the 80km/h dual carriageway results in significant loading on the road. A road construction project in Minnesota has benefited from improved quality control by using the new PAVE-IR heat scanning technology developed by German firm MOBA. Resurfacing work on Highway 29 near Alexandria, Minnesota called for around 50km of the road surface to be repaved. The contractor, Central Specialities, opted to optimise quality by employing the sophisticated PAVE-IR control package from MOBA. The Wirtgen Group reports that strong financial performance is expected for 2014. Full results are not yet available for 2014 but the privately held, family owned firm is confident for good results. Joint president Jürgen Wirtgen said, “Sales for 2014 will reach €1.95 billion.” He explained that for the first half of 2013, turnover reached €285 million, whereas for the first six months of 2014, turnover reached €329 million, a jump of 15%.
