CDE’s new German focus

CDE Global has formed CDE GmbH trading as CDE Deutschland, which has developed from a distribution agreement for southern Germany that was in place between CDE Global and Jurgen Kolsch. The move sees Stefan Kolsch and Sean McCusker assume roles as directors in the new company, which will have exclusive responsibility for the sales, distribution, project management and after sales and service elements of the CDE business in Germany.

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) has invested over US$150.93 million (SEK1bn) in expanding capacity and construction equipment offering in China and had secured a leading position in national wheeled loader and excavator sales, said Volvo CE president Pat Olney. The Swedish construction equipment manufacturer is also keen to develop its SDLG brand, which, Olney stressed, has helped Volvo CE secure its status in the Chinese wheeled loader and excavator market.
Liebherr continues to grow despite tough trading conditions

Liebherr is weathering the current financial situation rather better than some other firms, having seen turnover increase 9.8% to €4.4 billion in the first half of 2012, compared with the previous year. According to Andreas Boehm, a member of the board of directors at Liebherr, turnover for the mining and construction operations saw gains of 7.7% to €2.84 billion in the first half of 2012, compared with 2011. He continued, “Turnover from our earthmoving machinery increased 14.4% to €1.07 billion.” However,
