Poland’s viaTOLL system expanded

The electronic toll system viaTOLL has been expanded in Poland. On 12 January 12 2013, an extra 140km of A1 motorway and S1 and S8 dual carriageways came under the viaTOLL network, according to the directive of the Polish Council of Ministers. A further 160km expansion of viaTOLL is scheduled for 30 March 2013.

    Salini Impregilo has won a new contract worth about €250 million in Poland to design and build a section called Lot 3 of the S7 Expressway.     Italian civil engineering group Astaldi has underwritten a €4.5 billion (US$5 billion) loan towards the Turkish motorway project of Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir, which is worth an overall €5.65 billion ($6.4 billion).
