New Holland 'space savers'

Zero tailswing excavators from New Holland are part of a plant deal won by civil engineering contractor K Rouse with Balfour Beatty. The machines, 11 E135BSRs and two smaller models, the E80 and E50, are being used on a section of the M621 motorway near the city of Leeds, northern England, to remove existing metal crash barriers and install improved drainage prior to the erection of a new concrete central reservation.

HYUNDAI has three new compact, short tailswing excavators for its 9 Series lineup. The 6tonne, 8tonne and 23tonne machines share features with other 9 Series models already in the firm's range. High efficiency hydraulics are said to provide precise and powerful control of all operations, while minimising fuel consumption.

European customers will see the start of this process with a new generation of Case's tractor backhoe loaders, the T Series Construction King, and its Tier 4 Interim engine line-up.

Bobcat's new TR50210 rotary telehandler; S850 skid-steer loader; T870 compact tracked loader; WS32 wheelsaw and 3400D utility vehicle will be seen for the first time. The TR50210, one of four new rotating telehandlers offer lifting capacities from 3.5-4tonnes and lifting heights from 15.7-24.5m, while the 4,549kg S850 and 5,751kg T870 offer lift heights of 3,657mm, the highest ever manufactured by the company.

A range of safety specific additions have been made to JCB's 8018 mini excavator after the company worked with leading utility contractors to develop a special industry-specific version of the machine. The largest of the three 801 minis, the 1.6tonne machine retains its digging capabilities and its powerful 14.2kW Tier III compliant motor, but the utility pack offers requested upgrades.
