Hyundai Construction Equipment says that its innovative HW155H hydrogen fuel-cell-powered, wheeled excavator is showing the industry how hydrogen could contribute to future carbon-free operation on construction sites. Digging and driving performance is said to match that of conventional diesel-driven machines.

The firm is leading the field with its radical zero-emission solution and according to a company spokesperson, “This machine is not a prototype any more. It is production-ready. But the market is not ready for it yet.”

Mecalac has launched the latest generation of its 12-Series wheeled excavator-loader machines.

The France-based compact-machine manufacturer says the new three-strong range reflects its commitment to providing efficient solutions that simplify and accelerate work.

The new models are the 12MSX, the 12MTX and the 12MRX, and Mecalac says the 12-Series  stands out for its unique wheeled excavator-loader concept, offering versatility combined with exceptional performance and productivity.

Vemaventuri, part of the Peri Group, has introduced into Europe the TEMO Link, a specialised version of concrete temperature and maturity monitoring.

The existing complete solution, in addition to concrete temperature and maturity monitoring, covers two additional use cases, concrete pressure monitoring and concrete detection and compaction monitoring.  

As part of Manitou’s commitment to decarbonisation, the global French company is presenting a “concept” in hydrogen-powered rotating telehandlers. The MRT 2260 H2 prototype is a hydrogen-powered electric machine. 908/1The special feature of this model is that it is powered by hydrogen through a fuel cell which guarantees zero-emission operation.

Topcon Positioning says that its new HiPer XR offers more capabilities for GNSS duties. The HiPer receivers suit duties in survey applications, including engineering design, and cadastral projects. These versatile tools can also be used for construction site layout/stakeout, grade checking, and material volume calculations. HiPer receivers can also be paired with robotic total stations for Hybrid Positioning

Mecalac has reinforced its position in sustainable construction with the launch of a new electric excavator model.

The new eMWR wheeled excavator is joined by another new electric model, the eS900tele telescopic loader.

These latest models mean than Mecalac now has two excavators, two swing loaders, and a site dumper in its emissions-free electric portfolio.  

The compact machines can handle all critical urban earthmoving tasks - digging, loading, and hauling - on a practical scale.

Fresh on the heels of launching its new articulated hauler range, Volvo CE has further expanded the line-up with the development of all-electric models. The firm says that deliveries for the new A30 and A40 battery-electric machines will commence in 2026 in selected markets, with a full roll-out of these models globally in 2027 and 2028.

LiuGong’s commitment towards the future of battery-electric vehicles in the construction sector is exemplified by its expanded portfolio, including the new 4280DE motor grader.

The battery-electric grader’s battery pack provides fast charging within 1.6 hours and allows normal working conditions between six to 10 hours.

Meanwhile, the large capacity lithium-iron phosphate battery is safe and durable. Its development also demonstrates how new technologies and imagination go hand in hand in today’s R&D, as explained by the company’s chairman, Zeng Guang’an.

Vemaventuri has launched SONO Hub, a handheld device for its SONO solution for water- content determination of fresh concrete.

SONO Hub allows for on-device W/C-value calculation, local and direct cloud data storage and analysis via smartphone connectivity.

The SONO Hub’s instant water-content ratio measurement and cloud integration redefine efficiency, ensuring compliance and longevity in every pour, said Aaron Lucid, concrete expert and channel manager at Vemaventuri, part of the Peri Group.

Sumitomo is aiming to boost its share of the global market for asphalt pavers. The company is market leader in Japan and plans to develop sales around the globe, according to president & CEO, Isamu Mitsuhashi and regional manager road machinery, Weichao Shi.  

The company has undergone an organisational change to expand its presence in the global paver business. At the moment the firm is only exporting its HA60 model to Europe but believes this model offers performance benefits over competing machines.
