Chile project tenders due shortly

A series of major projects in Chile will be put out to tender by March 2018. These will be worth some US$4.08 billion in all. Further transport projects are planned for Chile and 2021, the total value of these will be worth an impressive $8.28 billion. A series of major projects in Chile will be put out to tender by March 2018. These will be worth some US$4.08 billion in all. Further transport projects are planned for Chile and 2021, the total value of these will be worth an impressive $8.28 billion. The country’s Chacao Bridge linking to Chiloe Island and Agua Negra Tunnel connecting with neighbouring Argentina are perhaps the two most notable and ambitious transport projects Chile will be working on. The tender process for the $800 million Principe de Gales-Los Presidentes stretch of the Americo Vespucio Oriente 2 highway should open during 2016. Also planned for tendering in 2016 is the Ruta Nahuelbuta highway, which will connect Biobio with La Araucania and is expected to cost $254 million. In 2017 the tender process for the Autopista Metropolitana de Puerto Montt, which is expected to cost $340 million. A further $1.3 billion worth of highway projects will be put out to tender in Chile between March 2018 and March 2019.

A US$291 million project will upgrade a stretch of the existing Route 40 to highway status.   • Colombia tunnel construction contract commencing

    Driving work has commenced for Colombia’s Toro Tunnel project. The tunnel will measure 9.8km long and is located in Colombia’s Antioquia Department, with the completion expected in 2022. The project is costing US$650.5 million and the link is intended to provide a link between the Autopista al Mar 1 and Autopista al Mar 2 highways.
