A key new road project is being planned in Indonesia.

A key new road project is being planned in Indonesia. The project is for a 39km toll road linking Pemalang with Batang and construction work is expected to commence in mid 2012. The finance structure for the Pemalang-Batang toll road project is still being established however. In addition to this project Indonesia;s Toll Road Authority is planning the 25km Cimanngis-Cibitung toll road and 57.5km Pejagan-Pemalang toll roads at present.

The 64km highway project is benefiting from funding from the Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Central Asia, and Bank Mandiri. These have each contributed US$91.06 million.     Plans are being drawn up for the Bulan Bridge project for Indonesia. This 5.6km long bridge is expected to cost US$871 million to construct. Funding worth $31.6 million is being provided by the Chinese Government to help kickstart the project. Construction will be carried out by China Road and Bridge, which has signed agreements with the local authorities in Indonesia for the project. The work will also include building road links to the bridge. The structure will connect Kalimantan and Tarakan.
