Indonesian project on track

Plans are now well on track for Indonesia’s new Medan-Kualanamu toll road project.

Plans are now well on track for Indonesia’s new Medan-Kualanamu toll road project. The road is expected to cost US$203 million and the land acquisition process required for the project is already 40% completed. Indonesia’s Ministry of Public Works intends for work on the project to commence shortly.

The 64km highway project is benefiting from funding from the Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Central Asia, and Bank Mandiri. These have each contributed US$91.06 million. In all, the project is costing $970 million. The project is being managed by Indonesian firm Jasamarga Japek Selatan.

  • Key SR-91 highway upgrade underway in California

    In the US state of California, construction is now underway for the State Route 91 (SR-91) Corridor Improvement Project. This improved section for SR-91 will run through the Corona and Riverside, both of which are located in Riverside County. The project will extend the SR-91 Tolled Express Lanes in Orange County into Riverside County, a distance of 17.6km. This includes a 13km stretch into Riverside County on SR-91, with a 5km flyover connecting to Interstate 15 from SR-91. Riverside County Transportation

  • Cambodia’s new highway project being planned

    Cambodia is hoping to start work on a new expressway running from capital Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville in late 2017. The 190km expressway is expected to cost in excess of US$1.5 billion and the project has been planned by Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport. Once the new expressway is complete, it will improve transport and reduce journey times along the route between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville, while also improving safety for road users.
