Work on Serbian highway to be carried out by Chinese company Shandong High Speed Group

Chinese firm Shandong High Speed Group is to carry out a portion of the construction activity for Serbia’s Corridor 11 highway. The company will commence work on the section between Obrenovac to Ub and from Lajkovac to Ljig shortly. The agreement was signed between the Shandong High Speed Group and the Serbian Government. Work on the project is due to for completion within 37 months. Exactly which portions of the construction work on these sections has not been revealed however. At present several sections

The company will commence work on the section between Obrenovac to Ub and from Lajkovac to Ljig shortly. The agreement was signed between the Shandong High Speed Group and the Serbian Government. Work on the project is due to for completion within 37 months. Exactly which portions of the construction work on these sections has not been revealed however. At present several sections of the Corridor 11 highway are under construction with work being carried out by firms from Azerbaijan as well as local companies. The project value has not been mentioned.

    The Serbian government has reported that it is planning to sign a loan agreement with China's Exim Bank for new loans worth US$ 1.1 billion for construction of the Corridor 11 motorway. The 46km stretch of highway will be built by a joint venture comprising Serbian firm Konstruktor and Indian company Simplex Infrastructure. The project is worth some US$335 million and Simplex Infrastructure will be the majority partner with 52%, while Konstruktor will hold the remaining 48%. The agreement for the project was signed between the joint venture partners and the Ministry of Transport and Telecoms of Sultanata Oman.
