The project to build a ring road around Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, is said to be progressing well. The work includes building a bridge that spans the Sava River, which is close to completion.

The 20km ring road will run through the industrial area of Bubanj Potok, which lies to the south of Belgrade. The project is expected to be ready for traffic in 2022.

The work is being carried out jointly by the Chinese contractor Power China Construction Corporation and the firm AzVirt, based in Azerbaijan. The ring road project is costing €207 million.
