The southern section of Serbia's Corridor 10 highway is now carrying traffic, with only final works needed to complete the link. This highway section measures 88km long and runs from Horgos to Bikovo, with all works on the highway section due to be completed by August 2011. Works on the 200km Corridor 10 section that runs from the Hungarian border through the City of Novi Sad, across the Beska Bridge over the Danube river and through to Belgrade is due for completion by early September 2011. The southern part will be 200km long. Work on the Horgos-Novi Sad section of the Corridor 10 highway is estimated to cost some ?97.74 million and the client is Serbian roads company 3235 Koridori Srbije.

  • Highway work planned for Serbia

    A series of major highway construction and road repair projects is planned for Serbia. The World Bank (WB), the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have all been in talks with the Serbian Government concerning funding for the work. Funding worth €408.46 million has been approved by the three banks for programme of highway construction and road repairs.

    Serbia will enter into talks with two Chinese companies chosen through a tender process that expired this month for restarting construction on the stalled Corridor 11 motorway. Serbian Minister of Construction Zorana Mihajlovic said Shandong Hi-Speed Group and the China Road and Bridge Corporation qualified for tender participation. Work includes construction and maintenance of 17.6km of motorway near Belgrade, between Surcin and Obrenovac as welll as the 31km Preljina-Pozega road and maintenance of t
