Paraguay project progressing to plan

Paraguay’s Bi-Oceanic Road project is progressing to plan.

Construction work for Paraguay’s Bi-Oceanic Road project is progressing to plan. Building of the route is being carried out by a consortium, Consorcio Corredor Vial Bioceanico, which comprises Queiroz Galvao and Ocho A.

So far 106km of the 277km route has been built. The project is costing an estimated US$445 million to construct and the work is being overseen by Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC).

A consortium, Rutas del Este consortium, requires the financing to carry out the widening and upgrade work to Ruta 2 and Ruta 7. The construction work will be carried out on Route 2 and for Route 7 and involves adding extra lanes and improving safety, in a bid to boost capacity as well as protection measures for road users.   • Paraguayan projects planned for road rebuilding

    A series of road projects is now being funded in Paraguay due to financing being provided by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB). Paraguay’s Ministry of Public Works and Communications is scheduling new road projects in the eastern part of the country during the first half of 2015. The US$105 million IADB loan will pay for 400kms of new roads and 2km of new bridges, with much of the work being carried out in rural areas.
