Key toll road projects underway in Indonesia

Work is progressing on the second phase of a new tolled highway in Indonesia, with a consortium carrying out the construction of the connection between Kualanamu and Tebing Tinggi. Work is progressing on the second phase of a new tolled highway in Indonesia, with a consortium carrying out the construction of the connection between Kualanamu and Tebing Tinggi. The consortium comprises three state-owned construction firms, 5204 Pembangunan Perumahan (PP); 5206 Hutama Karya; Waskita Karya and toll road operator, 1083 Jasa Marga. Construction of the second phase of the project, the connection between Kualanamu Airport and Tebing Tinggi, is underway. In all the construction of the first and second phases of the project will cost some US$522.6 million.

    The project for an elevated toll road link in the Philippines has been awarded. The new Taguig Express Way (MTEX) will be constructed in the capital Manila jointly by Indonesian firm Wijaya Karya (Wika) and Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada. The project for the 18.2km MTEX link is costing US$832.8 million. This stretch will connect the Metro Manila Expressway and Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 with Makati, Manila and Pasig City.

    Work will commence soon on Indonesia’s South Cikampek II-Jakarta toll road project. The 64km highway project is benefiting from funding from the Bank Negara Indonesia, Bank Central Asia, and Bank Mandiri. These have each contributed US$91.06 million. In all, the project is costing $970 million. The project is being managed by Indonesian firm Jasamarga Japek Selatan.
