Fleet management system boosts efficiency

Efficient machine performance and utilisation optimisation can be achieved using the new BOMAG TELEMATIC fleet management system, according to the firm. The package can be used in a mixed fleet with equipment from other manufacturers, in addition to BOMAG machines. The firm claims that this system offers new opportunities for contractors and rental firms to control, monitor and schedule service work for their machine fleets.
Novel paving solution

Two Volvo ABG7820 slope pavers are being used to refurbish a 2,000,000m3 reservoir in Hieflau Styria, Austria. The machines are paving an extra high bitumen content asphalt that is watertight and have been modified to cope with the 34° embankments. The pavers were supplied by the Swiss dealer Robert Aebi and the modifications include tiltadjustable operating platforms to boost operator safety and comfort on the slope. Cranes key to underground car park construction

A Manitowoc 2250 crawler crane and a Grove GMK6250L all-terrain crane have been used to help construct a two-story underground parking structure at a mixed-use apartment complex at Minnesota in the US. The cranes were rented from Vic’s Crane and Heavy Haul by Hanson Structural Precast, the precast subcontractor working for general contractor Frana Companies. The two cranes lifted and placed the precast concrete wall panels and flooring sections. The heaviest load, an 18m double T floor section, weighed 29.
