Chinese firm Jiangsu Expressway Company is to invest a healthy US$600 million in the Kunshan-Wujiang section of the Changshu-Jiaxing Expressway.

Chinese firm 3326 Jiangsu Expressway Company is to invest a healthy US$600 million in the Kunshan-Wujiang section of the Changshu-Jiaxing Expressway. This sum represents 30% of the total investment, while the remaining 70% will come from a yet to be named investment firm from the Suzhou Municipality. An approval has been granted by Jiangsu Expressway's board to invest in the section with 28.44km in a total length. Development work will be started by end-2011, with the highway featuring six lanes when it opens in 2014. A feasibility study is being carried out at present for the project.

    The Indian Government is providing assistance for road construction work in neighbouring Nepal. This assistance is for building the Kulekhani – Kathmandu road section, which will be widened and upgraded with an asphalt surface.
