Volvo’s new L250G wheel loader is being tested for the first time by a German family-run quarrying, logistics and concrete plant company with growing customer demands. Löderburger Baustoff + Transport (LBT), part of the larger Ferdinand Wesling Group, is using the machine at its two million tonnes a year yield limestone quarry in Stassfurt.

Greater fuel efficiency, improved digging performance and revised styling are among the changes to be found on Volvo’s latest D-series wheeled excavators. The four-model EW range spans 14-21tonnes and benefits from a new engine, cab, hydraulics, substructure, boom, arm and controls. There is more power with D-series, from stage IIIB engines that use V-ACT technology. The four cylinder (EW140D) and six cylinder engines produce high torque at low engine speeds, said Volvo, giving rise to low fuel consumption.

SDMO Industries is hoping its expanded line of rental compact power generators, being unveiled at INTERMAT 2012, will bring commercial success. The R275C3 and R330C3 Rental Compact models will come onto the market after the show, with the R450C3 and R550C3 available from June 2012.
