New tender for section of A4 highway in Poland

A new tender has been offered for the construction of the Debica-Tarnow section of the A4 motorway in southern Poland. The Polish General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways (GDDKiA) decided to call a new tender after deciding not to continue working with the consortium of Hydrobudowa, SIAC Construction, PBG, and Aprivia.
2-year delay to new Kentucky bridge could cost US $300mn

The cost of the Brent Spence Bridge project in Kentucky could rise by US $300 million, to around US $2.76 billion, if its completion is delayed by two years, according to a report by the US Federal Highway Administration.
Dutch road deaths plummet

Dutch road deaths have nearly halved in the last 15 years, according to new figures by the country’s central statistics bureau CBS. There were 661 road deaths in the Netherlands in 2011, down 47% from 1,251 in 1996. For passenger cars over the same period there was a 73.5% decrease in road fatalities, from 609 to 221.

Ringway, the leading service provider for Local Authority Highways Term Maintenance, is currently mobilising in preparation for its new Highway Service Term contract with Hertfordshire County Council.
