Bergkamp has launched the M1E self-propelled continuous slurry seal and micro surfacing paver. The machine has two main advantages over older versions, said the manufacturer: it is easier to operate and has electronic mix control and diagnostics. “It is much simpler to operate than the old-style machine,” said Bergkamp general manager Bill Cooper. “The operator can pick it up much quicker which means that if you lose an operator you can get a new one up to speed faster.”

GKN Land Systems has launched a range of service-free driveshafts at Conexpo. Developed exclusively for off-highway applications, the Synergy range of inverted slip design driveshafts combines the benefits of GKN’s Rockford and Bruneck ranges. ContiTech has announced the development of conveyor belts able to work with hotter and larger materials. The company’s tailor-made, heat-resistant conveyor belts now feature a new “heat control” insulating layer, ContiTech said on Monday at Conexpo 2014. That insulating layer reduces the transmission of heat from the surface of the conveyor belt to the strength members of the carcass by as much as 40ºC.

Oerlikon has launched a new hybrid electric drivetrain for wheeled loaders that is predicted to reduce fuel consumption by up to 30%. The hybrid package is a complete electric driveline system. It starts with engine partner Cummins supplying its 12litre QSG engine that meets Tier 4 Final emissions regulations.
