Sumitomo has developed a larger, high performance paver to meet the needs for productive highway class machines in export markets. The new HA90C-2 is based on the earlier HA90C paver, which was only sold in China and also shares a common design and layout with the existing and well-proven HA60C/W. Volvo Penta displayed a number of new engines for China and world markets at bauma 2014 in Shanghai, China. Throughout the year Volvo Penta has released new engines for a complete line of Tier 2 and Tier 3 engines. These share a common design with Tier 4 engines which means OEM manufacturers can fit an engine suitable for the customer and the applicable emissions standards without having to do a major redesign to accommodate a different engine.

Ammann has won a significant order from a customer in Thailand for an asphalt plant at bauma China 2014. The plant is being supplied to a major Thai contractor, located around one hour’s journey from Bangkok. The customer has an older generation plant that will be retained, but is buying the newer and more sophisticated Ammann plant to help boost production.

Hitachi has unveiled a new range of hydraulic excavators at bauma China 2014. High performance, productivity and durability are claimed. The models on show range from the powerful 69tonne ZX690LCH-5A to the 16.8tonne ZX170LC-5A.

Atlas Copco launched its new PowerROC T50 drill rig at bauma China 2014, in Shanghai. It was designed and is now built at Atlas Copco's Nanjing China facility but aimed very much at global market needs.
