A bulldog called Otto has set a new world record for skateboarding. The animal was able to keep its skateboard in full control as it passed underneath a human tunnel comprising 30 people. The record attempt was set in Peru.

A 16-year-old Swiss youth has found his high-speed high jinks will have repercussions. The youth travelled with his mother in a Chrysler Crossfire sportscar towards the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack, to take part in an open day. Even on its way to the track, the car was clocked for speeding along a restricted section of Autobahn.

The humble Vauxhall Corsa and Astra models in the UK are amongst several models from the GM division now being targeted by thieves. Rather than stealing entire cars however, the thieves steal wheels and body parts. The sports versions of the Corsa are at particular risk of being targeted in this fashion, with thieves stealing front valances, rear bumpers, doors, bonnets, wheels, seats.

A customer found out that insulting car salesman is perhaps not the wisest course of action. The man had entered the Moscow car dealership and began drunkenly berating one of the staff. Unable to bear the insults any longer, the salesman then jumped to his feet and began punching the customer.

Two thieves in the UK robbed a property, taking the keys to the owner’s Porsche sportscar and then driving off with it as well as a TV, a wallet and other assorted items. The driver called his friends on the phone as he drove away, boasting about having stolen the high-performance car, revving the engine for emphasis. The driver quickly found out however that having consumed alcohol, he was not in full control of a vehicle that was also rather more powerful than any he had driven before.

In the US a kindhearted motorcyclist put her life at risk when she saw a kitten fall out of a vehicle while she waited at the traffic lights at a busy intersection. The woman rider ran forward from her motorcycle, gesturing at vehicles to stop so as to prevent the ginger kitten from being run over. The woman handed the kitten to a passerby before returning to her motorcycle and moving it to the side of the intersection. She then collected the animal and has since taken it home, renaming it Skidmarks.

The European Union is providing nearly €202 million to finish the section of the D3 motorway between Strazov and Brodno around the city of Zilina in Slovakia. Zilnia is in north-west of Slovakia, around 200km from the capital Bratislava and close to the Czech and Polish borders. It is the fourth largest city of Slovakia with a population of around 85,000. The D3, formerly D18, is sometimes called the Kysuce Motorway. It was originally to be only a two-lane motorway in the Čadca - Slovak/Polish border
Costs rise for extending the South Luzon Expressway around Manila

South Luzon Tollways Corporation has said the cost of extending the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) in the Philippines has increased by 27% from nearly US$290 million to almost $348.
