Vietnam considering major new tunnel and highway projects

Vietnam’s Quang Ninh Province is setting out plans for major infrastructure projects. One project will be for a new tunnel link running under Cua Luc Bay, while the road projects are for the Ha Long-Cam Pha coastal route and the Van Don-Mong Cai Highway. Construction of the 1.3km undersea tunnel project in Ha Long city is now subject to a feasibility study. Construction is expected to commence in 2019.

Indonesia toll road projects face construction delays

The collapse of an elevated toll road section in Indonesia has triggered delays to ongoing projects for new links. A stretch of the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) toll road section in East Jakarta collapsed. As a result, work on a series of elevated highway projects has been halted. India highway link opens to traffic

A new stretch of highway is now opening to traffic in India. The 80km stretch of highway runs between Kundli and through Manesar to Palwal. Called the KMP Expressway, the route has had something of a checkered history and has been completed somewhat later than originally intended. The concession was originally awarded in 2006 and the road should have been completed in 2009, according to the planned timeline.

Chile’s Chacao Bridge under construction
