Peru project planned – Chinese contractor to construct

The project to upgrade the National Route 3 connecting the Peruvian cities of Huallanca and Huánuco will now go ahead. The project has been awarded to a Chinese contractor, China Railway 20 Bureau Group Corporation. The work is expected to cost US$375.25 million. At present the route features some sharp curves as it winds through the mountains, with the section close to Jacas Chico posing particular hazards, and the upgrade will help improve safety on the route.

The Svilaj Bridge connecting Croatia and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is nearly 40% complete, according to the contractors and the Croatian Motorways Directorate. Locally, the Svilaj Bridge – financially a 50-50 project between the two countries - is part of a motorway running from Beli Manastir to Osijek and on tyo Svilaj. France is fixing flyovers and bridges

Skanska reports that it has completed the bore and dynamiting for the Strømnes-Sprova tunnel project in the Norwegian county of Nord-Trøndelag. The nearly €40m project, which was awarded to Skanska in August last year,is for 5.4kn of new road, including both the 600m Holmvik and the 1km Strømnes tunnels. Traffic flow should improve between The Hague and Amsterdam in the Netherlands if tunnels are built at Wassenaar where the N44 becomes the A44 motorway.
