Volvo Penta displayed a number of new engines for China and world markets at bauma 2014 in Shanghai, China. Throughout the year Volvo Penta has released new engines for a complete line of Tier 2 and Tier 3 engines. These share a common design with Tier 4 engines which means OEM manufacturers can fit an engine suitable for the customer and the applicable emissions standards without having to do a major redesign to accommodate a different engine.

Ammann has won a significant order from a customer in Thailand for an asphalt plant at bauma China 2014. The plant is being supplied to a major Thai contractor, located around one hour’s journey from Bangkok. The customer has an older generation plant that will be retained, but is buying the newer and more sophisticated Ammann plant to help boost production.

SANY has lifted the covers on its new articulated dumptruck, the SAT40, at bauma China 2014. Featuring a 24m3 capacity dumpbody with exhaust heating, the SAT40 has a payload of 39.5tonnes. Power comes from a Mercedes Benz diesel rated at 350kW and which meets the Tier 3 emissions requirements.
