New machinery helps boost quarry production

A quarry in the US has managed to boost production by around 30%, thanks to the acquisition of new equipment. Replacing the old crusher at the Lafarge Pitt River Quarry has made a massive increase in production capacity, helped by improvements to the existing crushing circuit. ELRUS Aggregate Systems provided advice on optimizing throughput, with the facility further improved with the addition of a new CH660 cone crusher from Sandvik Construction.

Terex has scored crane deals in both Abu Dhabi and Qatar. Abu Dhabi-based Abu Nasir General Transport has now boosted its equipment fleet with the addition of a Terex AC 100/4L all-terrain crane. Contractor Balfour Beatty Mott MacDonald has used Klaruw’s advanced longitudinal grooving system, GrooveTex, to retexture sections of concrete surface on the M20 in the UK. The GrooveTex system improves and restores surface skid resistance by creating micro longitudinal grooves using closely spaced diamond-tipped saw blades at a predetermined width and depth. Swiss civil engineering company Scrasa has made a successful investment in a Hitachi ZX470LCH-5 as the main production machine for its sand and gravel pit. The large Zaxis-5 excavator was delivered to Scrasa’s Satigny site on the outskirts of Geneva by the country’s Hitachi dealer, Probst Maveg.
