A large red inflatable ball that was part of an art exhibit at a museum in Toledo, Ohio was blown away by the wind recently. This saw the 4.6m diameter inflatable bouncing down the road and over several vehicles, with attendants from the museum in hot pursuit.

A motorcyclist in India found out exactly why it is advisable not to use a cellphone while topping up fuel at a filling station. The man stopped to fill the tank of his motorcycle, then rested the phone on the bike. A huge flame suddenly appeared, setting the rider and his bike alight. Luckily however an attendant was near at hand, quickly coming to the aid of the rider. The motorcyclist also had the good sense to move his bike away from the pumps, preventing the fire from spreading.

Commuters in Kenya faced traffic delays recently as a result of lions wrestling in the roadway. Two lions chose the middle of a road as a suitable spot for a test of their strength. Located on the edge of a game park and close to capital Nairobi, the road carries heavy traffic on occasion and drivers were forced to wait until the animals had concluded their battle. Unsurprisingly, none of the drivers felt compelled to shoo the animals away.

A female Australian cattle herder has attracted unwanted attention from a peculiar angle. The woman was riding a quad bike while herding dairy cattle for milking when a koala bear started pursuing her. The woman was concerned for her safety as the animal has sharp claws and accelerated away, with the koala also speeding up in hot pursuit. Luckily the woman was able to elude her pursuer without harm to either herself, or the errant koala.

A tipper truck driver in the Middle East has reason to be rather embarrassed over his forgetfulness. The man was truck his truck along a major highway with the tipper body raised when the vehicle smashed into an overhead gantry containing signage. The truck was brought to a rapid halt, with the body smashing into the gantry and damaging it seriously. The incident was captured on the dashcam of another vehicle following close behind. No one was injured in the incident luckily.

When a vandal smashed the four parking meters in the small Welsh town of Cardigan, the locals could hardly have believed the results. With the town council unable to afford the cost of repairing the meters, local shops reported a massive upswing in trade ranging from 20-50%. Unfortunately for the town’s shop owners, the sales boom was short-lived and ended as the local authorities put other parking measures into effect.
