Kapsch for Kekava Bypass

The Ķekava Bypass - Latvia's first "high-speed road" - opened in October and with it a traffic management system from Kapsch TrafficCom started operation.

The bypass is providing an efficient alternative for motorists travelling between the Latvian capital Riga, on the Baltic Sea, and neighbouring Lithuania to the south. Traffic in the small town of Ķekava is now being reduced.

A customer in Guatemala has bought a second Lintec & Linnhoff continuous asphalt mixing plant from equipment dealer Guasueca. The new Lintec CDP14001M plant joins the customer’s existing Lintec CDP5001M, the smallest in this range. As soon as the new plant had been delivered to the customer, it was sent to support road improvement projects in Cobán, central Guatemala, over 200km from Guasueca’s HQ in Guatemala City.

The novel Betomix and Mobilmix batching plants from Liebherr benefit from a modular design. Plug-in modules are said to allow greater mobility when relocating the plant. The modular design means that customers benefit from are range of configuration options, short lead times, fast assembly and high parts availability.

Zero emissions compaction from Dynapac

Equipment from Dynapac is allowing contractor Skanska to carry out compaction without emissions. The contractor has been trialling Z.ERA CC900 e tandem vibratory rollers from Dynapac.

The performance of the electric machines was put to the test during its deployment with Skanska ine. Charging was said to be easy and quick in public and easy-to-reach locations such as filling stations and local charging ports. 
Skanska personnel also said that the electric compactors matched the performance of conventional diesel units, with no differences in compaction results.
