The work on the construction of the next stretch of the A100 motorway in Berlin, Germany, is about to start. The project is expected to cost €473 million (US$616.72mn) and be completed by 2020.

The work on the construction of the next stretch of the A100 motorway in Berlin, Germany, is about to start. The project is expected to cost €473 million (US$616.72mn) and be completed by 2020.
Slovakia has opened the 9.5km Levoca bypass, nearly completing the northern part of the D1 cross-country motorway. The remaining section between Bratislava and Kosice is expected to be open around 2020, with the Zilina, Presov and Ruzomberok bypasses yet to be built.
The newly opened section of Janovce - Jablonov II includes the 600m tunnel Sibenik, as well as a slip road to Levoca and 12 road bridges.

Work is due to start on a new bridge connecting Botswana with neighbouring Zambia. The Kazungula Bridge is expected to cost some US$259 million. The new link will replace the ferry service operating at present between Botswana and Zambia. This project is being handled jointly by the authorities in both Botswana and Zambia. The bridge construction is being financed by Japanese International Corporation Agency (JICA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Work is starting on a new road tunnel in Nepal. The tunnel will form part of a 58km highway route that will improve connectivity in the country from capital Kathmandu to Kulekhani and Hetauda. Italian civil engineering company Impregilo, through Poland-based subsidiary Salini Polska, and Polish firm Kobylarnia has been awarded a US$341.2 million (€250mn) contract to build a stretch of Poland’s A1 motorway. The near 75km route will link the towns of Torun and Strykow, and is expected to be completed within a year.
