Work will commence shortly on a major project to improve the Great Eastern Highway in Western Australia (WA). A partnership deal between 3367 NRW Holdings, 3369 GHD and 2685 Leighton Contractors (Leighton) has been agreed for the project, which will be managed by Main Roads WA. The alliance contract is intended to help integrate the development and design of the project. The project will cost US$221.6 million (A$225 million) and includes upgrading a 4km stretch of the highway to a six-lane road, between Tonkin Highway and Koonyong Road.
