STRABAG wins tricky Polish project

Austrian construction firm STRABAG has won a major road contract from Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Highways (GDDKiA). The deal is for the construction of a 40km section of the S8 Expressway between Walichnowy and Sieradz Poùudnie, some 240km to the south west of capital Warsaw.
Asphalt plans silos increase efficiency, reduce waste

A Colombian contractor tackles specifications for asphalt road work with Astec equipment. Award-winning Colombian contractor MHC has upgraded its Astec Portable Double Barrel plant to handle highway and other projects. The plant, installed in Bucaramanga, equipped with two RAP [recycled asphalt pavement] bins, a Double Barrel Green System, and one New Generation silo was bought by MHC in 2009. It has now received a second silo and a truck scale extension.
Scania to deliver 375 trucks to Zoomlion, China

Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science and Technology, an existing Scania customer since 2008, has ordered 375 trucks which will be used as a platform for mobile concrete pumps. Said to be the world’s largest concrete machinery manufacturer, the company's largest mobile concrete pumps, which have a span up to 80 metres, are mounted on Scania’s 4- and 5-axle truck chassis with 6-cylinder 420-470 hp engines.
Versatile impact crushers aid major building waste recycling

Rockster Recycler is helping an Indian construction company reach its target of crushing two million tonnes of discarded building waste in a year. M/S Popular Construction, part of the Popular Infra Resources Group, is using two Rockster R900 Impact crushers with Duplex systems at four locations in India and plan to expand their deployment to eight sites. Chinese construction equipment firm Sany is buying Putzmeister, the German manufacturer of concrete pumps. The terms of the deal have not been revealed officially but the acquisition is said to be worth €360-500 million according to various reports.
