Versatility is a key feature of Komatsu’s highly adaptable PW148-10 wheeled excavator. This new short tail machine is suited to use on job sites with limited space, such as in towns and cities or on narrow roads with heavy traffic. Power comes from a Komatsu SAA4D107E-2 engine that is emissions compliant for use in Europe, highly fuel efficient and delivers 90kW, an increase in output over the earlier model. The operating weight of the machine ranges from 13.7-15.6tonnes depending on the specification.

Bangladesh, China seal $705 million deal for Karnaphuli River tunnel

Bangladesh has formally signed a US$705 million deal with China Communication Construction to build a multi-lane road tunnel underneath the Karnaphuli River in Chittagong. Road Transport and Bridges secretary Man Siddique along with the government’s Road Transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader signed the contract with Liu Qitao, chairman of China Communication Construction. The signing took place in Beijing, according to a report in the Bangladesh newspaper The Independent.

Liebherr opens a new logistics facility in Germany

The Liebherr Group now has a new logistics centre located at Oberopfingen, Germany. This facility is supplying customers around the world with spare parts for the firm’s wheeled and crawler excavators, wheeled loaders and bulldozers, as well as some other machines. Poland plans programme of road maintenance contracts

The Polish road and motorways authority GDDKiA plans to award a series of maintenance contracts to private operators up to the end of 2017. An additional €482.23 million will be allocated through outsourcing during the period. The contracts will be for an average of five years, and payment will be subject to the quality of the service delivered.
