Machine control helps with earthquake reconstruction

In Japan the latest machine control technologies are being used to help with earthquake reconstruction. Three years after the major earthquake that devastated Miyagi Prefecture on Japan’s main island of Honshu, the clean-up and reconstruction work is far from complete. In addition to rebuilding infrastructure and buildings, the Japanese Government has had to build a series of major improvements to flood protection.
Israeli contractor using Hitachi excavator for road construction

In Israel a specialist contractor is using a new Hitachi excavator for major earthmoving work on the Road 65 construction project in the north of the country. Hilkiyahu’s ZX670LCH-5 has already clocked over 1,100 working hours, excavating and loading 1.5million m³ of materials on the upgraded route.

Hitachi has unveiled a new range of hydraulic excavators at bauma China 2014. High performance, productivity and durability are claimed. The models on show range from the powerful 69tonne ZX690LCH-5A to the 16.8tonne ZX170LC-5A.
Atlas Copco launches new Chinese drill rig

Atlas Copco launched its new PowerROC T50 drill rig at bauma China 2014, in Shanghai. It was designed and is now built at Atlas Copco's Nanjing China facility but aimed very much at global market needs. York Yang, product manager in Nanjing joked, “We should design a product to drill holes in the customer's ground not the customer's pocket.” And with cost effectiveness in mind the T50 was developed.
Lonking’s latest wheeled loaders offer higher performance

Shanghai-based Lonking showed three of its latest wheeled loader models at bauma China. The CDM858, CDM856 and CDM835 are designed to meet an array of customer needs, offering high performance, reliability and durability. The high specification CDM858 is powered by a Cummins QSB6.7 diesel rated at 164kW, which drives through a ZF transmission.
Doosan unveils Tier 3 compliant excavators

Doosan unveiled a new range of excavators that are all China Stage III compliant. While initially only for the Chinese market a Doosan representative confirmed that they will be offered for other emergent markets. The largest is the DX500LC-9C. In the 50 tonne class it is powered by a 257kW engine and has a 2.14m3 bucket.
BOMAG unveils new compactors, mills and pavers for China

New for BOMAG in China are a soil compactor, asphalt paver, asphalt rollers and reclaimer/stabiliser. These launches come at a time when the firm is seeing its market share in China increase, as more customers opt for quality machines for their longer term road contracts.
