Upgrade for nine Moscow roads

By 2014, the Russian capital Moscow is planning to reconstruct nine outgoing highways from the city. Out of US$69.55 billion allocated for the city's transport development programme in 2012-2016 years, almost $19 billion will be spent on road construction and maintenance. In 2012, almost $10 billion will be invested under the programme, including $3.4 billion in reconstruction of roads. The Nepalese Government is pushing ahead with its road network improvement programme The government has managed to upgrade roads in 72 of the country’s 75 districts, despite the geographic challenges presented by its mountainous terrain and frequent steep slopes. One recent road revamp has been in Manang district where a new road has connected Chame with Besisahar and Lamjung. A Colombian contractor tackles specifications for asphalt road work with Astec equipment. Award-winning Colombian contractor MHC has upgraded its Astec Portable Double Barrel plant to handle highway and other projects. The plant, installed in Bucaramanga, equipped with two RAP [recycled asphalt pavement] bins, a Double Barrel Green System, and one New Generation silo was bought by MHC in 2009. Phoenix Industries says its new equipment can deliver on-the-spot pothole repairs even in the toughest winter climates. The MP 300 is a truck or trailer-mounted mobile patching unit which utilises PelletPATCH, an innovative rubber modified pellet material for pothole patching. Germany requires road repairs

A low level of investment in improvements and upgrades to Germany’s highway network is causing concern in the country’s transport sector. Some states have revealed a backlog of works needing to be carried out, with road surfaces now reaching the end of their design life and bridges requiring replacement in different parts of the country. Transport groups say that continuing low road maintenance budgets will further exacerbate the problem.
