Paraguay’s new highway project receiving funding

Funding for a major highway project in Paraguay will be provided by Japan's International Co-operation Agency (JICA).

Funding for a major highway project in Paraguay will be provided by Japan's International Co-operation Agency (6706 JICA). The project will cost US$176 million and involves building a 147km connection between the town of Natalio and the Los Cedrales District. The bids for the contract were announced in April 2017.

The highway will be one of the largest construction projects in India as it will measure 701km long, running through 10 districts. It will cost US$7.09 billion to construct, with $5.4 billion of the funding necessary being provided in the shape of a loan from South Korea.
