Paraguay’s new highway project receiving funding

Funding for a major highway project in Paraguay will be provided by Japan's International Co-operation Agency (JICA).

Funding for a major highway project in Paraguay will be provided by Japan's International Co-operation Agency (6706 JICA). The project will cost US$176 million and involves building a 147km connection between the town of Natalio and the Los Cedrales District. The bids for the contract were announced in April 2017.

The highway will be one of the largest construction projects in India as it will measure 701km long, running through 10 districts. The work is expected to take 36 months to carry out with the Maharashtra State Road Development Corp (MSRDC) managing the project.

    In Oman plans are in hand for a major road widening project. The project calls for the widening of the 715km Adam-Thumrait highway. Local contractor, Ghantoot Transport and General Contracting Establishment (GTGC) made an offer of US$285.7 million for phase one of the project.
